Default I am new here.....

I just joined. A little about me. I am 14 and I just got into photography about a year ago. I have acquired quite a bit of information from my grandfather who used to shoot with film and from reading some older books on photography.

I started with a Fujifilm S1000fd Point and shoot. This year for my birthday, I got a Canon Rebel XS.

My current lenses are:

Canon 18-55 IS Kit lens
Sigma APO 70-300 4.5-5.6 lens (gold stripe) I got this for $10 because it only works with the largest possible aperture.

Here are some of my pictures...

Well, Welcome to DPS Sharky. Looks like you've got a good start on photography. Have you made a Flickr yet? I'd love to see more of what you can do. I'm so jealous, I still only have a point and shoot. :P

No, I don't have a Flickr. I will have to look into making one tomorrow.

Yeah, Flickr kinda makes it easy to post things here. Theres a sticky somewhere, I'm sure one of the mods or senior members will post it at some point. It tells you how to post pictures from sites like Flickr. Oh, and I dont know how far into the whole photography thing you are, but if you don't already have a photo editing program, I strongly suggest downloading Picasa and Gimp. Just Google them and you should find links. I use both, Picasa I use for my watermark and for organizing my photos. Gimp is like Photoshop, but both are FREE!

Thanks for the help! I have Gimp. I just don't like it.....at all. I keep most of my pictures natural so far. The whole photoshop idea hasn't really caught much of my interest yet. Maybe if I learned more about using it, I might be more interested.

It's just one of those "things" on my mental to-do list
