Hey there, been a while since i put any new photos up as ive been far too busy playing mum and working to get out there with the ole camera. Anyhoos, last night i was at an awesome gig hosted by some very good friends of mine who run High Voltage Music - Home Page and run a series of band nights in London. For some reason they think i can take photos so asked me to go along and get some shots of the night for them...scary stuff, ive never done gig photos before..tend to stick to children so comfort zone being pushed here!! Anyhoos here are what i think are the best of the bunch but more can be found on my flickr page.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for any comments! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks Hayward
Think it helped that it was an acoustic/RnB/Soul type gig so no manic lead guitarists to try and focus on

As you will find you get a lot of views but not many comments. That doesn't mean your shots are bad just that in a 24 hour period sometimes there are hundreds of shots put up here do you know how long it would take to comment them all?
I had one post with 6000 views but only like 16 comments. If you are getting good views (106 on this post so far) take that as people like your pictures. And Yes wonderful job here. I assume you were shooting in Automatic hence the flash?? Maybe try to venture in manual settings and get some shots without the flash in my opinion they look much better. I realize it was dark but you can adjust your shutter speed, ISO and aperture to make the picture look almost daylight without the flash.

Nope, i was shooting in Manual i had the ISO set to 400 for some and 800 for others. I had to use the flash though as they literally came out black lol The venue was a very dingy poorly lit pub (as all the best gigs round here are!) Also my other comment, i guess its off the back of other photo sets i've posted on here that have had no comments on them so getting a bit disheartened by it really. But i have a thick skin and whether you like it or not i'll keep posting

Yeah I get that also, so many people view them and I get hardly any comments. I guess I have just gotten used to it. But in all, your pics turned out well with such bad lighting. About the only way I could see to get them without a flash would have been to use a tripod with longer shutter speeds. But for 800 ISO these turned out very well!!! Good Job

I wouldn't worry too much about not getting many comments. Many of us mods get very few comments too.
It's easy to get disheartened, but then I look at how many SYS threads get posted and realise that if my thread gets pushed back a few pages in a few hours, no way is it going to get many comments. I think I like the B&W shots the most. Hope you had fun at the show!
