These are great, Becky, and best enjoyed, enlarged, on your Flickr site. You piqued my curiosity about Dragonflies I ended up at Wiki. I wondered if they just hung around to delight the eye or they worked for a living. They work--they consume mosquitoes. Thanks for the side trip. Your first DF looks like it should be called Tigerfly. The wings are just beautiful...well....they all are. Good for you!

Thank you all for your comments. And Lindy, thanks for that information. I didn't know they were the ones to thank for keeping the mosquito population down! But I have always thought they were fascinating and beautiful with so many varieties of them. But, I always have so much trouble capturing things that move so fast! The lake we found today had so many of them, we could just stand still and one would eventually land right in front of us!

These are beautiful! The last one is awesome. I never knew what they really looked like up close until I found one to shoot and few days ago. They are strange looking creatures, but fun to shoot. Great job!!
