Default Fly and Fishing

Both these were taken with the same, good, old manual lens. Since it doesn't let me focus too close, I decided to not try and turn this into more of a close up.

It's A Big World

This was taken from the same spot, just a few minutes later.

Kayak Fishing

Thanks for looking.

The firs one is awesome Chip and sometimes you don't need to go in so close to make a great photograph. The composition is perfect and your DoF is excellent. I also like the second one too, nice colours in that one. This is great work Chip.

Dave.

Vin - The fisherman sure was laid back. He took about 30 minutes to get ready - just taking his time, not rushing at all. Thanks for your comments.

Very good shot of the dragonfly. Sometimes they're just better from a distance. I like the look of the fisherman in the kayak. Just looking for a peaceful, easy day.

I like the effect on the Dragon fly Chip, Nice Bokeh! I miss my Float tube fishing. Not much of that here in South Korea.

Very nice shots, Chip. I really like the dragonfly shot. Sometimes I know that I get so caught up in closeups and macro, etc. that I forget to step back and take in the whole picture. Nice work.

Seeing your dragon fly in the original size on Flickr is just amazing. What a beautiful creature. This experience is really a two fer. You get the whole setting in the smaller shot and a sharply focused close up in Flickr. So good. Your lone kayaker sure makes me long for a time when I can do that, too. Very nice images!

Thanks, Mike. Glad you liked the "dragonfly in context" part of that photo.

Michael - How great that you enjoy Float tube fishing. Sounds like it would be a great way to spend the day.

It's happy hour here at DPS! And I sure hope there's a well-deserved sailing or kayaking adventure in the near future for you.

Many thanks, Lindy.
