Exclamation It Said, "If You Pass You Are Committing A Federal Offense". We Passed and I'm glad!!

The gate before the local Quarry in Virginia had that lovely information, but..the law to me wasn't real those few hours.
What are your opinions?

Was it toxic waste at a superfund site? Rock Quarry sealed by the Federal Government, and that's the first thing that comes to my mind. I certainly wouldn't be going in the water without checking the EPA's website first.

Doesn't sound like your average 'No Swimming' or 'No Trespassing' sign...

They put those signs at rock quarries because the crystal clear blue water is SO inviting that many a people have drowned in those beautiful waters. I think they should make public recreation areas with picnics and swimming myself because the water is just SO DARN beautiful!!!!

We have a lot of quarries near me too. Used to swim in them when we were in high school. Very dangerous, I had a few friends that passed either in the water or on the paths leading to them. For years now, some agency has put chemicals into the waters so that people will not go in them. Wonder if it's the same there or not?

The water is no where near toxic. It's very healthy. Quarries in the south are sealed off for protection. The states acts as if they are natural preservatives.

Plus, I would like this topic to stay strictly on my photos and not the cleanliness of the water. After all, this section is, "share your shots" not, "share quarry toxicity levels".

Thanks for the nice compliments to those who focused on the PHOTO and not the quarry water!
