Default Why I can't get my girls interested in fishing

A few weeks ago, we were in Chattanooga and we spent one day at my grandmother's small lakehouse on Chickamauga Lake. Each of the kids tried their hand at fishing off of the boat dock. See for yourself if they enjoyed it....

Lisa is bored stiff

Mandy is in deep thought about something other than fish

Brianna is thinking about her boyfriend back in Lexington

And well, Michael always happy to catch anything, caught this pathetic excuse for a fish. It was the only catch of the day......Made everyone want to toss their poles in the water go lay in the hammock under the pines

Judging from the size of the fish....I can see why they were not very interested. But at least you got them to try it!

Nice set Patrick, I can sympathize with them as I never really enjoyed fishing. Love to catch fish, but the sitting and then catching a minnow drove me nuts. Give them a camera and let them have some real fun.

Lesson learned, some days are winners and some not so much! I find fishing is for reflecting and quiet time. I think they had plenty of that. Your pictures speak volumes. Nice shots for the memory books no doubt!

Haha! These photos had me wondering if that's how my girls will feel about my hobbies. I hope you told them that fishing is called "fishing", not "catching". And besides, it builds character!

Anyways, you captured boredom on a beautiful day.

If that's all you can catch, no wonder the girls are bored. Ha ha...great series Patrick.

This series really makes me laugh. I enjoy collecting oxymorons (Civil War, Army Intelligence). Please don't hate me, Patrick, but I include "Interesting Fish Story" among them. I'm showing solidarity with LIsa, Mandy and Brianna: "Can we go now? P-l-e-a-s-e!"

The only thing that ever got me to go fishing was the company. I kind of understand the boredom. Great shots though.

I've never liked fishing either, so you can count me in with your girls....except for the thinking about the boyfriend thing....
