Default Moon shot

This is one of the several moon shots I have taken recently. The others pictures were small, because I couldn't zoom in enough. Last night I walked outside to check the pool pump before going to bed, and there was this huge moon, couldn't resist running in and grabbing the camera.

DSC_0236

Camera: Nikon D90
Exposure: 0.067 sec (1/15)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 200 mm
Focal Length: 201.6 mm
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: No Flash

That's a great shot. I never have been able to get a good one of the moon because it is so small.

nice shot. i havent been able to get a decent shot either. not with my P&S. love the color, and how the craters are very detailed on the edge where the rest of the moon would be.

I saw the moon on the way home the other night and I couldn't believe how huge and how low (close) the moon looked. Very similar to this shot, nice capture.

I convinced myself there will be another opportunity and I've just not been driving home that late at night recently. I hoping it's going to stay that low / clear for a while and I can grab the shot on the next full moon.

That's beautiful! I tried to take a photo of it, but on a point and shoot. Doesn't exactly compare .

Thanks everyone for the comments. I can't wait until the new moon. Looking forward to some full moon shots. I am also working on getting the adapters to connect to my daughters Meade telescope for some good closeups.

You planning on heading out Aug 27th when Mars is supposed to show up close to the moon?
