Default What kind of a world do we live in as photographers...

...where we make breakfast in the morning and have to photograph it before we eat it? That's scarey. I just couldn't help myself. I looked down at the plate after preparing this delicious omelet and the first thing I did was grab my camera. Now that's sick.

Omelet

So, what is your question?
Is it about the white balance that seems to be too warm. Or the browns that look too reddish. Or the composition: not sure that the green plate with dots is the best choice for background and the cropped avocado in the top which is a bit distracting. Or is it the flash that gives a harsh reflection in the lower left side of the Ommelette. Did your food make you sick? Please rephrase, I don't get it.
Oh, I would suggest you shoot the pan while cokking the eggs, flipping eggs or panqueques are great subjects.

All best!

excuse our american weirdness......sometimes things get lost in translation......sick, can mean "cool" or "awesome" as in "that's sick man"...can also use same phrase to mean "gross". Rusty's use would mean weird or unusual.....after all who makes breakfast and then photographs it? That would be more on the unusual side of daily fare. Hope this helps! Patrick

Goodness, I think Flavio was speaking tongue in cheek...I think he meant he didn't understand why you would question the obsession to shoot your breakfast before you ate it.
I think it's funny...although I haven't had that particular obsession, my camera is never far and if my food ever looks good enough to photograph, I will shoot it and share it with you.

Thanks for your clarifying efforts, Patrick!
It is not a matter of "lost in translation" but more of a different interpretaion of the same situation. You know how some people don't get the british sense of humor? Something like that. I'll formally appologize to Rusty. Is just a missunderstanding. My comments may have sound like critiques but were not meant to be. As you well know if I have something to critique I make it very clearly, in the proper section.

Thanks again!

Wow! My breakfast never looks like that! There's no way I'd leave myself enough time to prepare anything but a bowl of cereal let alone a feast like that!

You could have started a new thread here - everyone to photograph their breakfast and post it
