Cool First week of taking photos...EVER(:

I'm a noob to not only this site but also to photography as a whole. Being bored during summer break led me to pick up my grandfather's Canon SX10 IS Powershot and take some photos around the house and neighborhood. I love it. I cannot wait for sophomore year to begin so I can take some classes to refine and become better. Sorry if I don't understand the concepts, or terms you talk about, as I'm still trying to learn and understand them. They aren't spectacular but here are my favorites so far

I think you've got the eye for it, and with the desire to learn more, you should beware -- it's an addiction and can last for over 50 years; mine has! Welcome to the clan,

Those are some great shots. I would say becareful with taking classes they can sometimes stunt creativity. If you have a choice of different teachers see if you can find info about each of their teaching styles. I'm not trying to scare you just giving you a heads up. I view "rules" of photography more as suggestions and others sometimes don't.
