6 th of July a historic day for Fredericia

HI DPS. i wanted to shared some of my shots form the 6 th of July here in Fredericia, Denmark.
6 th of July is an historic day for Fredericia the city i live in.. it was the day we won the battle againt the germans in 1849. we was defending our city when the night came we attacked the germans camp outside the city and totally over rumpled them. 1700 danish soldiers died in those battles..
the day is celebrated because we one.. but it's also a day we remember the 1700 fallen soldiers
Early morning on the 6. th of July starts by firing an old canon from WWII 27 shots. in 1 minute intervals..


The people firing it are those people who used it in WWII..
Then we march through the town and soldiers are dressed in old uniforms used throughout the time back from 1849 till now

Wow! I am always fascinated by war photos. The softness of the 2nd photo made it look so old and I like it.

thank you for the nice word. the softness comes by the smoke from the canon being fired
