Default Moar Lens Flare

So I'm back from my sojourn to the UK and Paris, and well rested. I have plenty of time now to work on the literally thousands of shots I took, but after the discussion on Lens Flare on the site, I thought I'd share some shots I took at Stonehenge. You can still find a few tours over the summer that allow you entrance to actually touch the stones at sunrise or sunset. I was lucky enough to be on one of these tours and it truly was a wonderful experience.

Coming from Australia, it was hard to believe that this was nearly at 8pm. The sun is long gone in these parts by that time, even at the height of summer.

Enjoy,
Jane

Yes I did play around with the colour in this one, but I was going for a dramatic and atmospheric look.

After reading the post about using a lens flare I decided to share one of my old "flare" pictures. Although I really like it , it was criticized a lot for the flare effect.

I think it's lovely, Victoria - a lot of people are critical of it, but in some cases it is yet another creative effect. I do love yours, I think it adds another dimension to the composition of the shot!
Cheers
Jane

These are great shots. I really like the first one with the 'flare' coming through the middle, it adds another interest to the photo.

Jane, I'm glad you were able to get on one of those tours, because each one of these is terrific and very imaginative. I was admiring the beautiful colors and silhouettes on the first two and when I scrolled down to the third, I was momentarily disappointed, but then I took a closer look at the earthy colors, and how the moss on the rock matches the green of the grass, and thought of the timelessness of the earth. Excellent set!

Great shots! Hope you had a great trip! My husband and I did a month in Europe a couple of years ago, before I got into photography unfortunately!

Jane, these are outstanding shots. All 3 are truly magnificent. I just love the 3rd one. The moon above and the sun shining on the stones.... wow.

Victoria, this image is beautiful... Don't know why it would be criticized. I guess some folks just have way too much time on their hands.
