I was downtown Ann Arbor 2 days ago taking pictures. I didn't know I would be out for so long and had no intention of taking pictures at night. I however decided to give the high ISO of the 5D Mark II a try since I have not yet really done any testing with it. These were all shot at 6400 Hand Held. The first image has just a touch of noise reduction done post processing (since I liked this picture best). The rest are straight from the camera with no noise reduction enabled.
I must say I am very impressed especially over my old XTi. While shooting at 6400 ISO is usually not ideal unless you are looking for grain, it's certainly usable in a pinch. ![]() ![]()

I agree! The composition is complimented nicely by the relatively low noise.
I'm curious; what PP was done to the first picture? I love the look and style of it!

That is my Next DSLR!!! I'm impressed with your High ISO captures! My favorite would be the last one, the glare on the left wall is a little distracting, but I really like the perspective.
Thanks for Sharing these Michael

Very nice -- 1/30th of a second at f/5.6 and no IS. That's great. I've been considering a 5D MKII. You almost seal the deal with these shots.
