Default Beginner's First Attempt (speedlite 430ex II)



got bored today so i tried my speedlite. i think the shot i got has a lot of noise. i need your comments on this to improve my work. thanks for checking.

eos 450d, 18 55mm kit lens, speedlite 430ex II

aperture: 5.6
exposure time: 1/60
direct flash, auto

From the size that's posted here, I don't see much noise at all. Maybe it looks worse larger, or on a better monitor than the one I'm using now? What ISO did you use?

I like the photo - nice shape to the water drop and the color is pleasing.

iso is 100, handheld the camera. thanks for checking. maybe it's better if i used a tripod.

Great shot! I don't see much in the way of noise? But if you are looking for a great noise reducer, Neat Image Plug in for Photo shop is a very cool tool!

Thanks Michael. I'll try that then. I'm really trying to improve my work. Time for me to watch some photoshop tutorials.

That's quite impressive! I love the vivid color =)
And I second Neat Image. It's incredibly useful for fixing up even hopelessly noisy photos.

tweaked the settings on my cam, direct flash, blue basin... simple yet effective
