Talking Camping Trip

We just got back. Even though we had internet at the campsite it was so slow that I couldn't do much with it. The campground was not my cup of tea, however the rest of the trip was fun and made up for it.

These are from the first day we were there. This first pic is a wide shot of our camp site along with that of our neighbors. Later that day someone else came in so there was a camper directly to the right of ours. We are used to sites that are usually right next to a river, have tons of woods around us etc. So we were a bit taken a back when this campground's idea of a wooded site was to have 5 trees total on both sides of us and a wooden fence behind us. There was also a large wooden maitainace building behind the wooden fence, that must have housed every item that anyone would ever need on a camping trip, as some little golf cart was constantly driving by us to get to this building, then driving back by us to go deliver it.

Here is Lola recovering nicely from her surgery last week.

My daughter brought a friend with her. They and the hubbie were having fun playing with sparklers while I shot 'em.

Lastly the moon was so gorgeous that night

Well, it seems that you made the best of a bad situation. That's really too bad about the campground . . . . nothing as bad as going camping but being totally unable to "get away from it all." I'm guessing that you won't go back to this place anytime soon?

Nice set of shots. Your daughter and Lola seem to have been having a good time.

Looks like a great trip. Sorry you weren't able to be by something more scenic than a maintenance shed! Did you get any pictures of it? Have the cats left Lola alone long enough for her to convalesce? Hope you had a great time and that we'll get to see some more pics.

I think I camped there... At least in a park where they had these idiotic little gas powered golf carts buzzing around all day and half the night. At least you had a good time and got some lovely photos.

Thanks. No, that campground is off our list. We all had a great time. Easier to make the best of it then to ruin the whole trip. lol

You know I thought about taking some pics of it, but said nah it's burned in my memory. Lola is healing nicely, the cats leave the dogs alone unless one of them has food that someone else wants.

Oh no Sue, shame about the campsite. But at least you shared the pic. Lola looks to be doing nicely and a cute little doggie. Great work witht the firework shot that is so nice. And lovely moon with so much detail. Nice set of photographs Sue. Sorry about the campsite.

Dave.

Really nice pictures, the sparkler one is really clever, did it take a while to have them synchronised. It is a terrific moon shot.

The sparkler pic...is that long exposure and then they "write" the letters with the sparklers?

Thank You Dave. I thought that pic of the campground had some comedic value

Thanks !! It took a couple of tries to get them to not be making weird movements with the sparklers.

We were playing with the shutter times .... this one was either a 2.5 or 3 second exposure

Everyone is commenting on the camping trip, I can't say much about that as I only camped with a backpack or hunting camp and never in a campground. Those days are long gone also, now I only camp in areas that have four or five stars. What I can say is you FINALLY got a shot of the Moon. Great shot at that, good work.
