Hello everybody
I am a newbie here , so had my DSLR for about 2 months and was crazy about the solar eclipse . Unfortunately did not have money for the solar filters so had to come up with something...

This one goes here?? Or should I post it in "How I took it"??

Thank you very much!!!!

Wait so you shot through a couple CDs? I'm surprised! Either way, nice shots, especially the first one.

Thank you.
I did a lot of research about solar filters then found out that astronauts must wear a shield because of sun radiation to not get cooked , so the shield is made of layers of gold and aluminum over a very thick glass. So , if it is good for the chicken ... it's good for the hen...
As I was not in outer space no need for such a sophisticated thing and CD's are made of policarbonate and a thin layer of aluminum ... 2 pieces must be OK I thought...
Turns out to be it was not bad at all , well , at least I like them and got to watch the whole thing live ... VERY interesting!!!!
Good luck
Cheers
M.

I will have to remember this the next time there is a solar eclipse. Those are some nice shots considering. Did you see or get any pictures of the corona?

Actually I am in Taiwan , so no could get the corona , here was about 85 or 90% and only can get the halo and corona when it is full eclipse and it was in China.

Good idea and good work! I like the idea of creativity (using CD as a filter) and simplicity of it!
