Default Self de-saturate, & unexpected lighting

I'd like to share this, to get some opinions and reactions. It might be one of the few photos of myself that I like. And it was spur of the moment, too. maybe that's why i like it.

Here it is, please let me know your thoughts!

I really like the toning of this, but for me the book is a distraction. Overall it is a lovely self portrait, especially considering it was not planned.

gone to flickr to see more of your photos.
It really is one of the best.
I like the book. Title and pics are all about "out of normal", beings.
You look so "normal", passing a sensation of calm, simplicity, soft, tender.
The contrast is great.
Considering your other photos, this is more you.
How did you made this color/tone?

I like the photo!

I assume the other are referring to it as a self protrait because it is of the original poster.

Lovely picture of a lovely lady.
The composition is interesting as are the PP and sepia tones. The background with the hexagonal beehive shape works very good. The book could have been distracting but it actually adds to the overall picture and leaves the viewer thinking about imaginary and amazing creatures (like you would like to be, sometimes?) The shadows on your face also work well (not too dark). The expresion in your face is intriguing. Overall, a job well done!

When flshwonder wrote: "It might be one of the few photos of myself that I like"
I guess that is what she meant.
