Default A Chance Encounter...

...with a butterfly on Friday over my lunch hour. This little beauty loved the camera and fluttered about for over half an hour letting me take her picture.

Peek-a-boo

Against the cloudy sky

The Real Me

Thanks for looking. Always look forward to any comments you may have.

All three are great, but number three takes the prize. Beautiful shots.

Aimee, These are lovely and I can just picture you snapping away enjoying every flutter of her wings. What beauty and you have done a beautiful job of bringing every mosaic patch on her wings into beautiful sharp focus. I especially love the blue strokes along the edges of her wings in your last photo.

Beautiful Captures Aimee! I really like the 2nd one. Butterfly's are never easy to shoot; but you've made it look easy with these
Thanks for Sharing

Thank you Lindy. I certainly was chasing this sweet little butterfly around that bush for quite some time. I imagine passersby probably thought I was a bit looney, but after I got the images downloaded, it was well worth whatever they thought! I was so happy she finally spread her wings for me to catch the blue coloring, so pretty.

Thanks Michael! It was my first attempt at photographing butterflies, and I will agree, it wasn't that easy to shoot. They don't sit still for more than a second! Plus I was so afraid she would flutter away at any moment. So glad you liked them; the second is one of my faves as well.

Thank you angeleyes. I tried desperately to capture it while in flight, but it was just not happening! They move way too quick for me!
