Default Cut to the quick

Garden centres are places that draw me like a magnet..........plants are a passion so where better to roam with my camera whenever I get the chance.
Straying into the 'work' area of a garden centre in Surrey, I found these leaves, just lying on the bench...........like still life studies. I didn't touch them or get them to pose.

I recorded them for posterity!

COLEUS-fire nettle.

Cool shots....too bad the stuff that goes to waste, but people wouldn't buy it, so there it goes.

Hi Leona....................yes,interesting to see many 'wilting' plants consigned for scrap............at least they do degrade.

Good eye and nice work, moi.

I particularly like the last one. To me, it's realistic enough so that it's recognizable, yet compressed enough so that it's also distorted in a way that I find interesting. That, plus the textures and colors make for a very attractive photo.

How you find beauty in the mudane is beyond me. Excellent as usual.

Hi Chip-I felt as if I'd discovered genuine 'still life' studies just lying there on the plantsman's bench. The 'tidy' bucket was the icing on the cake. Thank you for the lovely feedback.

Hi Mike.............from a reply to this picture on Flickr I've discovered a fellow member who uses elements of plants to produce really great art work..........http://www.flickr.com/photos/horticu...rt/3394693169/
Glad you liked the set.
