I posted this in the critique section but I wanted to post this too since this is one of my favorite shots from my last trip to NYC during this past Memorial Day weekend.
Love the wide angle lens! It's the Great Hall at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. Canon 50D EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 10mm 1/50sec at f/5.6 ISO 1000

Thanks
It's true. For places like this, it's hard to capture with a standard lens! And I also found, even for artwork, a wide angle lens worked far better than anything else as long as you keep in mind the distortion. I really need to play with this lens more... Too bad I can't use it if I ever decide to go full frame...

Thanks EXILER
I initially wanted to really emphasize the arches and the dome by pointing the wide angle upwards. But from the balcony where I was at, that would have made some nasty nasty distortions so I decided to keep it as parallel to the floor as possible to preserve the shape of the arch in front. It was nice practice learning to use the wide angle indoors as opposed to the standard outdoor landscape shots

LOL I have almost the same shot from my trip there a year and a half ago. I used a longer shutter and lower ISO cause I wanted most of the people to disappear.

Love the arches and the architecture you've revealed here. Great job indoors with the wide lens.
