That sounds like an incredibly fun event (as both a spectator and photographer). I've been to a few free concerts under the stars, and they offer movies under the stars, and there are also outdoor circuses... but the ballet really must have been something to see. Those are some really nice shots as well! I quite like the second, just because of the vibrant pink.

These are very well captured Patrick! Looks like a fun event and you can't beat the cost! Summer night in Ky. Under the Stars, enjoying the Ballet for $5:00! I would have paid a lot more to see these folks perform.
Thanks for Sharing these Michael.

Brilliant shots. Very well done indeed. My wife and I went to a Joss Stone concert in the open air here in the Algarve last Friday. I did not take my camera, thinking I would not be allowed to use it!! What amazed me was the number of people with cameras of all sorts taking what looked like good shots. However, there were many "professionals" with expensive gear and flash. I wonder what their pictures looked like. To me, flash kills the atmosphere of these shows. I have done many in the past and NEVER used flash. It's distracting for the performers. High speed, grain - no problem. All part of the atmosphere and if you do want to smooth over, there is always Noise Ninja.
Very well done, you must be very pleased.
