---at least the ones in the Cockrell Butterfly Center in Houston, Texas aren't. Ok, they have a very, very nice set-up there, so I didn't hear any of them complaining. I got tired of looking for things to shoot in my yard and my dogs are definitely tired of my camera. So we headed downtown today to the Museum where the butterfly center is. We also went in the entomology (sp?) area and I even took some of bugs, really weird bugs. Some 400 shots later here are just a few. Help! I can only post four. LOL! Ok, so the first is not a butterfly but they were my favorite thing there because they were so different and I didn't know they existed. Yes, they were real..
Blue Frogs (very poisonous the sign said). This was shot through a glass display. ![]() Showing Off ![]() Brown Beauty (could not be persuaded to open his wings) ![]() This beauty had landed on a leaf that a little boy was carrying. Whenever it would open it's wings the boy would try to bring it to me to take a pic of, tho the butterfly would usually close them by the time he got to me. When it finally opened it's wings wide the boy hunted me down so I could take a pic. Because of his actions I had to include this one.. ![]() I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them. I will post more tmw.

Very Nice post, I looked at your photo stream as well and you have some lovely ones there as well. I visited a butterfly enclosure in Puket Thailand once, But it seemed like shooting fish in a barrel to me, they hung fruit up and the butterflys clustered there along with flys etc. it was hard to get a good shot.
Thanks for Sharing these Michael

very nice set Shirley .. the frogs remind me of the " Blue Men " which are also very posionus, really cool color, well shot thru the glass btw .
I love the butterflies, they demand to be photographed it seems, just a perfect subject matter, though not so easy to get right and to me you got all of them " right " stunning clarity and colors.. well worth the trip there,, thanks very much for sharing them ! Vin
