had a great shoot today out in the woods, deciding to pay one last visit to the few osprey nest I've been following since the spring, I am happy to let you know most of the young osprey have taken flight and left the nest. It's a little wierd feeling, a little sad but also quite a bit of joy that so many have made it this far.
Here's a youngster riding the wind comming off the river... ![]() and yet, there still remains one left in a nest, though he stretched out and flapped those wings every few minutes.. it won't be long until he lets the wind lift him up and off ![]() Even though it was my first season shooting these wonderful " Sea Eagles " and I missed a few goals ( seeing eggs in the nest, feeding the young, catching a fish ) I am Sooo much more confident and able to work toward them next spring cause they always come back !! As I was walking along the river, I spotted a young rabbit, my intention was to capture the river and sky in the reflection in it's eye , not exactly the result I was shooting for, but he sure is a cutie and looks really healthy ![]() and at last a Duck, shot tight and sharp ![]() Travelled light today, nothing but the 100-400m on the camera and a water bottle .. was nice not to lug around all my gear and considering it was 90 degrees I made the right choice.. kinda hard for me to leave the tripod, but if I'm gonna improve handheld I have to. Hope you enjoyed the set.. I am still determined to try for a Osprey actually catching a fish and have about a month left before they leave for Central/South America, but I will not shoot them from the nests again this year ,but it was a good run ! Vin

Wow Vin these shots are awesome. Even though you missed your mark on a few things, there's always next year. The bunny shot is awesome as is the duck. I love looking at your posts.
