It was a tad rough on the water

crashing

so these were a no-go

Canoes

So we went on a walk, this one was a surprise as I stopped to catch the textures of the peeling birch bark

spider in the birch bark

This ugly dude was about 5 or 6 inches long .. yuk

millipede i think

Doesn't look like a nice day for canoeing but still worked out for great picture taking!

Ok so its a little choppy on the lake, good colour DoF and atmosphere
Sensible not to take chances with the those boats, nice compostion and framed by themselves and the tree.
Then we find a spider thats can probabaly kill in seconds, great light and shade, focus and textures.
And what looks like a billipede whose very touch can bring you out in a rash, I agree, yuk

Good post Ian

Too bad about the Canoe trip Ian, but at least you got some Great Captures. Love the Birch and the spider. We have Centipedes in Thailand as well, I've seen them over 12 inches in length, they look like snakes at 1st.
Thanks for Sharing these

Yikes! That's a tad rough! Nice job on the peeling bark, that's not something I would have thought of taking a picture of. I really like the colors of the canoes against the red building.
