Default Canal challenge

Yesterday I took a walk along our local canal here in the UK-The Wey Canal, Surrey. Wind, rain, sun, cloud. Nice and challenging! Not to mention a gentleman shouting at the top of his voice, asking for directions to a pub. He clearly didn't think that being deeply buried in bushes clutching a camera was that important!!

Here's some of what I captured.

PEACOCK BUTTERFLY (Inachis io Family Nymphalidae)

Peacock butterfly

CREEPING THISTLE(Cirsium arvense)

Creeping Thistle

DOUBLE DUCK

Duck double

Splendid series of shots. The photography is marvelous. That's one of the prettiest butterflies I've ever seen. Such still water to get a perfect reflection and I like the water flowing over the grass, it looks like it's going down into a hole.

Hi Mike! Thank you veyr much fr the compliments! I had to identify the butterfly so I'm learning about nature too. The water flows through a small culvert and roars out the other side......bit of an optical illusion really.

I've missed seeing your images and the way you frame your world. Your last photo has an optical illusion quality to it, sort of an Escher meets Monet. I like it very much!

Hi cousin............I've really missed being here.
I was pleased at how the last shot came out.................was difficult to frame and I really wanted to do it justice. Thank you for the kind words.
