Default 2 Rapids and saving Pooh

Jen and I went up to the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City, Utah. On the way back to Vegas we had planned to stop in Zion. According to the forecast Zion was going to be pretty hot so we went to Pine Valley instead.

One of the waterfall rapids type things that I saw in the stream,
Water Fall Pine Valley

and here is another one.
Water Fall V

Saving Pooh Bear, he was depressed that we were leaving because he hadn't gotten any honey from the bees.
Saving Pooh

With the two waterfall ones I learned that when not blocking light from coming in through the viewfinder you should put a cover on it. Let me know what you thin of them. Oh and if anyone knows of a way to mimic Velvia through DPP I would love to hear about it.

Gonzo, those water rapids are gorgeous. You have the water so smooth, and saving Pooh. Nice piece of humour. Great work, you did a wonderful job with the firest two.

Dave.

The geography of the first pic is very good....

Liked it a lot, though I felt it could have been slightly brighter

Dave.
After first seeing waterfall an running water pictures I would try to take them. At first I didn't understand, then I did some reading and found out the trick. When I did them they would come out alright nothing to show off though. On this trip I found out what I was doing wrong, which was not covering the eyepiece and using up to 2 ND8 filters. Thanks for the compliments.

Thanks. I darkened it equivalent to half a stop in PP. I felt some detail was being lost in some of the rocks and the driftwood in the sun. Maybe I'll post one that is brighter.

If I would have let him jump my Wife would have been furious. Thanks.

Love your rapids, Scott. The way you have balanced shadows and lights in the first one is fantastic. Well done, and thanks for sharing.
