New beginnings
Here are a couple of shots of new plants from my backyard.
The first one is growing from seeds I received from a friend at work. It is a Eugenia uniflora (pitanga or Surinam cherry). Pitanga is a delicious, cherry-like fruit that grows on a large bush to small tree. Young Pitanga Tree (better seen in a large format):  Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100) Aperture: f/3.5 Focal Length: 6 mm Exposure: -0.10 ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Younger Pitanga Tree (better seen in a large format):  Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS Exposure: 0.02 sec (1/50) Aperture: f/2.8 Focal Length: 6 mm Exposure: -0.19 ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV I found a piece of Cactus on the street, planted and cared for it for a while. Now it is recovering. Cactus budding:  Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400) Aperture: f/2.8 Focal Length: 6 mm Exposure: -0.29 ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Great shots! I like the little tip of new growth on the first one and that cactus is amazing.

Love how that sapling is highlighted in that 2nd shot against the dark soil...beautifully done
