Default Up Up and Away in My Beautiful Balloon

Well its that time of year again for the balloon festivals. Today I went to the 72nd Annual Warren County Farmers Fair, New Jersey, featuring the 9th annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. Details can be found at: Brochure

The weather was not great, very overcast and hazy so the pictures are not as great as they could be. Fortunately I got them to give me a "Crew Pass" so I was able to go out on the field and take lots of up close shots. Here are a few I'll post more in the next few days if anyone wants:

Balloon fields offer so much color. I really like the one catching the flame.

Great pics, I love the balloons. They have a National Tournament here in Baton Rouge every August. They will be here in a week, can't wait. I took some pics last year with my Olympus 3.2mp, ABSOLUTELY amazing. Even made it into a slideshow video and put on youtube. I'm so ready this year because I just got a Nikon D90 3 weeks ago. Anyway Awesome pictures looking forward to seeing the rest.

Very colorful shots kirb. Great subject. Did you shoot those with the sigma 10-20. I just got the new f/3.5 version. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Anyway great pics. Like them alot.

Thanks all.

No, did not use it and will probably sell the Sigma 10-20 HSM soon as it just does not fit into my way of shooting. I took the D300 with the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 and the D5000 with the Nikon 18-200 with a circular polarizer on it. I took about 500 shots total - trying to catch flames just right and such. Will post a bunch on my flickr page as I get to it.

These balloons are so colourful and I love the elephant one in the first shot. Great work Kirbinster.

Dave.
