Default First Strobist Attempt!

I'm so excited that my Cactus v4s have arrived, along with a strobist lighting kit, and an orbis ringflash.

Sadly everyone around me is less excited (having put up with constant click clicking at every available opportunity for the last few months).

On the plus side, I discovered that all I needed to do was bribe them with beer...

First Strobist Attempt...

Let the good times roll...

Cool shot! Looks like he may have run out of beer...

I've been thinking of an external flash unit myself. Torn between regular Speedlite-type or ringflash. Thanks for sharing this example.

Just saw this on flickr Pixie. Love the lighting..lol and I know the feeling nobody want the flash in their face. Great work and I am sure there will be more to come.

Thanks You need a regular flash to go inside the ringflash - so I'd get one of those first.

I got a lighting kit from here

and you can get / look at the ringflash at the same site, or here

Before you do, have a good read of the strobist blog, as it will take you through everything you need to know - I found it VERY helpful.
