Default A Dangerous Place To Be

I’ve been experimenting with depth of field a little and this shot of my bass was accidental. I laid it on the floor in front of a door window for natural light, then I notice my youngest daughter’s (21 months) feet headed straight for the neck of my bass. I was in the process of taking the shot when her legs appeared in the viewfinder. Turns out, it wasn’t a bad picture.

That's adorable. Having just a part of your daughter in the shot gives a nice sense of scale.

I assume that both your daughter and the bass are doing just fine?

Yep. They are both OK. It was a close one though.

Great depth. Your daughters feet really add emotion to the composition.

I really like it. It went from a cool picture of a guitar to a really cool picture with a story

Washburn XB-600? Hard to say from this angle but the bridge, controls and lower end contouring look familiar.

Beautiful shot. What you would have had is a shot that everyone else has or had done. What you have now is unique. Thank that kid for walking in to the shot. Then thank her for not cracking the neck! lol
