Default Lightning, Universal Studios, a Crescent Moon, and a Flag by a lake

Jen and I went on a trip to Southern California to see some friends, a baseball game, Conan O' Brien, and some Family.

This was actually taken the night before we left. I thought that the branching out of the tree and the lightning mirrored each other.
Ground and Sky

Jen and I waiting to be let into see Conan O'Brien on the 21st of July. We were actually shown during the taping when they panned the audience, next to a guy in a cowboy hat.
Universal Studios

This was taken at Dodger Stadium. After the sun went down the Crescent Moon came out.

On the way back home we went up to Big Bear Lake to see my Dad and had a late lunch at a restaurant with a patio with a view of the lake.

I hope you enjoy the shots as much as I did taking them.

I really like the contrast in the first one.

Hey.
The first shot is really awesome. Great timing and composition.
I also like the soft colors in the third one.
Good job!

Looks like you had a great time. I really like the moon over Dodger stadium.

I played with the contrast a little in it. The ambient light brightened up the tree a little too much for me.

I think that I took at least 20 pictures that night. Maybe 2 came out. Lightning storms in Vegas are great for photography. This one was the last one I took. The colors drew my attention for the Dodger shot. I think that I missed a play or taking pictures of the moon.

We did have a great time. I got a little sun burnt but we still had a great time. I didn't even notice that the moon was out until the sun was below the horizon.

Jen looked at my website today and asked why I didn't have the Dodger Moon shot on it. I wasn't sure about the legalities with being on in a MLB stadium when I took the photo though. If anyone has any insight to this let me know.

that lightning shot takes the cake for me.....really excellent capture......while lightning by itself is fascinating, the tree adds another viewing dimension in a very effective non distracting way

When I saw it on the LCD I knew it was the best that I was going to get that night. I packed up my stuff and went inside after that. They are complete opposites in the picture, dark and light, from the ground and the sky, kind of like a ying yang. Thanks for the look.
