Isn't Plumb Island the high security military research facility for toxic agents that is off limits to civilians?

great shot, love the composition and the color tones of the beach .. great frame too !!

Located on Plum Island is the CDC's Infectious Disease Control Center for the east coast, dealing mostly with agriculture risks, but also very dangerous and contegious disease... there was and still is alot of discussion about relocating it where better secruity can be provided.

It's a beautiful pristine island in the Long Island Sound and there are parts of the island open to the public, and there has never been an incident of breach of containment. I've been there quite a few times and it's actually quite safe.

( I used to be a Pollution Enforcement Officer in the US Coast Guard, so I have a little inside information on Plum Is. )
great photo, thanks for sharing it !

Vin
