These photos do a great job of giving you a sense of the speed and competition. And a now pitch for why DPS is a great website. You learn stuff. Paddleboad steamer? I was completely unaware this technology--old but nevertheless interesting. I can see why you chose your BW/leave the funnels Red, white and Black treatment. Anyone who knows the Waverley will recognize them. Very well done, Bill.

You have been busy and innovative with these three bright action pictures. You can feel the power of the boat in the first as the driver leans to the right taking a tight left hand hand turn.
The second looks fun, and forgive my apparent rudeness but at first glance it looked to me if the driver was wearing an animal head, either a zebra or badger with a small mane.
The final one is clever, the boat works great in black and white and even better with the funnels emphasised.
Excellent work Bill

Thank you Linda, a little info on the boat.

Waverley

"Built on the Clyde in 1947 - to replace the original Waverley that sunk off Dunkirk in 1940, the Waverley was originally built to sail only between Craigendorran & Arrochar in West Scotland. It is amazing to think that she now sails right round Britain offering regular trips on the Clyde, the Thames, South Coast of England and the Bristol Channel with other calls at various ports & piers throughout the UK."

It is quite a boat, I remember going on it when I was lots younger, the big treat was to be taken down to see the engines, to look out at the paddles beating through the water. Now I am going to have to book a trip and take some pictures of the engine.

Thanks Beach.
It was quite a day but we moved away from the fast boat area to go down to see the Waverley, open the paper this morning and see pictures of jet skis doing somersaults, I could have got some pictures of that but thats the way it goes

Looks like a lot of fun and variety on the river. Great action shots to boot and I like the selective coloring on the last one.
