Red face My hero for the weakend..... Update

So this weakened the family and I went camping, at Crescent creak. We came across this lone fly fisher. So I struck up a conversation with him, and grabbed some shots of him fishing. As I was taking the shots, I came across this log and it looked like it would make for a great spot to get some different shots. So as I made my way across the log, the lens that I was keeping in my pocket decided it was time to end its life. At this time all I could do is watch in complete horror as it disappeared in to the water. So I asked him if he could see my lens, and if he could, would he please save it for me. He did save it for me, even though it meant that he got completely soaked. I owe this man, more than then he knows. So I got his email address, and sent him links to the pics I got of him, and some of my favorite work.

Thank you all for your concern, at this point the lens is sitting in a container of rice. The last time I checked on it the water was gone and only a mist was left. At this time I'm hoping that there will be no internal damage.

Good luck with the lens. It has 9 lives, right?

Very nice photos of a beautiful spot. I could sit there for hours and be very happy.

Boy im sure hoping it has at least 1 left. The worst part is that I insured all my lens and the camera body. The lens I droped in the drink is the only one bought online, so that meens that its not insured.

A great way to say thank you for services rendered! Hope the lens comes out of ICU alive and well.

I hope he does like them, as an amateur photographer I can hope my best is enough. Especially in the case where I mostly likely will not see him again.

Just a quick update. I checked on the lens when I got home and found that only a very small spot of mist was left. So at this point I have very high hopes, that it will be okay.
