Default I got a new lens...

Well, I got a 50mm/1.8!! I have been wanting one for a while, so I ordered it the other day. It came in the exact day the gears on my Sigma 70-300 stripped. I have been playing with it, and I happened to catch my youngest son looking out a window. He hates when I take his picture, so I have to catch him when he is unaware. So I just skulked around until I caught him off guard. The settings may not be what they should, but I just love this picture. He just looks so handsome..... Ok, so I am a little biased.I have one more year with him at home, and then he will be off to college. So not looking forward to that.

Thanks for looking.

He is a cutie! And it's a great shot - perfect profile. Nice shallow dof. (Oooh, I want a lens like that too!) Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I am really loving this lens. Since my other favorite lens is in the hopital, I should have plenty of practice time.

Allyson, you're right he is handsome. Nice shot...funny how some people just hate the camera pointed at them.

I love this shot. He surely does look handsome in it. My kids are also camera shy, hm, I wonder why!

I also like the colors and the window in the background. Have fun with your 50, I love mine too.

I understand exactly! My youngest was exactly the same way. Couldn't get a shot of him without a hat on. Lived for the ones with a full face view! I like the way you've caught him, too. They don't have to be technically perfect to have a lot of meaning!

Thank you all! I have not done many people shots yet, but since getting this lens, I am really enjoying them. Now if I can just find someone to let me take their pictures without kicking and screaming like my family does. My next step will be to just go take random shots of people in the streets. It couldn't be any harder!!!!

Thanks again for looking.
