Photo of Mohonk Mountain House which is located in New Paltz...Its an exclusive hotel set high up in the mountains which is geared towards those who like to kick back and relax with the great outdoors...The rooms dont even have TVs...Located on the grounds are 2200 acres of property to roam..Its a shame how hazy it ended up being the day i went..Its about an hour and a half from my house and you have to go early cause they close the grounds off when a certain amount of people get there and its known for closing only a few hours after it opens so you have to leave early and just hope for the best with the weather.
The three photos give you an idea of how high i climbed up the trails of the mountain to take photos. ![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: Sorry for the large photos, i know i exceeded the 800px rule. I just happened to read the rules. I will be sure to stay in line in the future. Last edited by wulf; 07-26-2009 at 09:10 PM. Reason: 800px max width please |

Thanks for the comments. Im not to sure on the price but i am sure its not cheap. When i found out their was no TV i lost interest in staying there for a night haha. I love the wilderness but i need my TV at night when its time to lay down. The area is just lovely though, defiantly something to make a day out of. It takes half a day just to walk to the top of the mountain.

I love those shots. I love that area too. My son went to college at New Paltz for two years before he transferred. I climbed that mountain at parents orientation weekend - took some photos up there (back in the slr film days). Thanks for the memory. The cemetery in New Paltz is a great photo op too! You are making me miss NYS again!
