After entering my submission to the current assignment - Machinery, I wanted to get a better shot of my pocket watch. I set the shot up pretty much the same way as I did yesterday, but this time I used the overhead lighting in our bedroom instead of the shop light I used yesterday. I also used some card stock printer paper to block out the tripod. Oh, and I made sure to clean the crystal this time too.
![]() In the first shot, I tried using the onboard flash. After seeing the terrible glare I was getting, I tried to diffuse it with some of the card stock. This is the best I could do: ![]() This next shot is my favorite. I didn't use the flash, and after some post tweaking (including shopping out the brand name, and putting in the missing VI o'clock), this is what came into being. ![]() I got the back-lighting effect by setting the watch on a CD case, which was on top of a sheet of regular printer paper, which was sitting atop a metal candle holder, in which I placed my LED Mini-Mag flashlight.
