Default shruggin it off

Trying to get back in the groove after a nasty cold, beautiful sunny day and a few hours to spend back at the Swans ( cause I've missed them ) , My intentions were to pan flying birds with the new 100-400m on the tripod, got a few I'd like to share.

first up a flying green tipped teal

Vin, I said it on flickr and I will say it again.. One word describes your post. WoW The last one is amazing. You nailed it to the wall. The others are brilliant too, but the last one is just something else. Outstanding work Bro.

Dave.

Man, when you shrug off a cold, you shrug it off in a big way! That new lens is way better than any cold medicine! Superb images, and the SWAN (swan with attitude nasty) is something else.

Thanks much Steve, as with Dave/Jake I really appreciate our friendship and how thoughtful you are in your comments.. I was able to zero in a little better this time and got some good ones.. I have higher goals, but I know it takes time.. I also like the last one, the pick of the day and actually pretty easy shooting, really glad you like it !

If I might recommend The Blue Danube Johann Strauss II , there was a certain tension in his attitude toward the other waterfowl around him ( perhaps because at the moment he can not fly ) every 20 minutes or so, he'd hiss and chase a another Swan,Duck or Goose

I'll have to download some of this Tchaikovsky I think I heard of him !

Thanks Leona.. I'm really glad you like them, although I have taken many trips to this particular park to shoot the swans and other waterfowl.. I still enjoy it and always seem to get something different.. I'm going to work on rendering you speechless !!

Thanks Mike ! .. I'm getting a little more used to the lense, seems to be a trick to panning with it mounted.. I guess like a Machine Gunner , but I'm getting a little better. really glad you liked them

While all of these are wonderful action shots, that last one is phenomenal!! The feel to this is just so intense and the photo itself is technically outstanding!!
