Default Trout - Simple to Abstract

We recently took a hike to the Walhalla Fish Hatchery in the northwest corner of South Carolina. They raise and stock about 500,000 trout (brown, brook and rainbow) a year in the mountain lakes and rivers. I used a circular polarizer for all these shots, which I think helped a lot on the 1st 2 shots.

Here are 3 photos, in increasing levels of abstractness.

Trout 2

Trout 1

Trout 3

Thanks for looking.

These pictures are cool. I think my favorite is #2, at first glance you think "what the" and then realize what you are looking at. In my mind this is abstract, but I always llike to know what I'm looking at.

Really interesting shots!! I really like the first one. It's been years since we have been to a hatchery. These make me want to go back!

The second one deos it for me. Looks great. I tried some at Petit Jean State Park without the polarizer and looking at your pictures it sure makes a difference.

Since I have no memory (although now I have a great excuse!), I'm wondering if I told you about my observation concerning heart rate and looking at abstract photos? Simply, my heart rate slows and I feel deeply relaxed when I look at abstract art. I just felt that now when I looked at both the abstracts, though especially with the first. I love the colors and the gentle sense of movement. That's a really nice experience. Thank you!

Amazing captures Chip. The first one is my favourite, lovely detail. Great use of the polarizer.

Three pictures captured and presented at a high level of quality.
All three work well, although I'm drawn to the first one which I would happy have on my wall
