Got a bit lucky today at our local state park, and in my back yard. While setting up to attempt some landscapes at the park, a gaggle of geese came running over to me. The area I was in had several stone benches by the lake, so I'd say these fellows assumed I'd be tossing some bread. Here's the best shot I got out of the bunch:

The light was too harsh, and I didn't have time to wait it out, so I walked on down the shoreline and came across several dragonflies lighting on the stone wall at the water's edge. Here's my favorite, I love that I got the detail of the wings so well without using a tripod! ![]() Here's another one that didn't come out as nicely as the first. A prime example of no tripod, and rushing the shot, I suppose! ![]() And I shot this beauty in the back yard of the house. I tried to get one of a yellow daisy, but all my shots were too blurry. The wind was blowing just enough to mess up my shot. Fortunately, these babies were further into the woods than the daisies, and after a bit of tweaking, this is what I came up with:

Big Jim, nice shots...I really like the goose and the first dragonfly best. We have to work with what we have.
