Default Make-a-wish Road Trip

Things that make me happy:* the grasslands of Southern Arizona, Sky Island mountain ranges, especially the Huachucas and dirt roads.* This weekend, my birthday weekend, I got my wish.* We planned a quick getaway to SE Arizona and, while our ultimate destination was Bisbee, our trip included all these things.* The first photo was taken from the backside of the mountains looking south into Mexico.* In the distance, you see a thunder storm.* This is our rainy season and this is a common sight this time of year.* The second photo features a windmill.* This was once a common site here in the "Old West" and, in fact, this photo was taken just a few miles from Tombstone, Arizona.* One by one, these symbols of ranching are going away.* They always put a lump in my throat.*

Lindy, I'm glad you had a great trip! The raw power of the storm and the majesty of the open spaces and mountains makes your first shot stunning! I like the composition of your second....It just screams "Road Trip". Were you moving at the time, or do you have a patient and understanding hubby that will cater to your every photographic whim?

I really like the second shot. If you took that while the car was moving, it makes it that more impressive.

And happy birthday. =)

Wow, you did see some nice sights on your trip. The first one is so dramatic and a wonderful photograph. The second one is cheating, you stuck a photograph on the mirror..lol only kidding. That is awesome. Great composition not only in the photograph but also in the relection in the mirror, I love that you captured the widmill in the view.
It's so nice of you to share some of your birthday weekend.

Dave.

Lindyanna...we have "grasslands" here? I haven't seen real grass since leaving the East Coast. Looks like I will be going on a hunt. I learned very hard lessons when I moved out here to Tucson.....OUCH! Love the photos...very nice.

Lindy,
I love the drama of that first shot. Open land - open sky - something many never see. The colors and composition are really beautiful.
I really like the composition of the second - takes you back down the road from whence you came. neat! (I also love it out there - spent 10 days traveling when my sister lived in Fountain Hills. I would have moved out there at that time if I could have.
Thank you!
