Default You weathered the storm

You weathered the storm

waterwheel

It's getting better now, you look a little battered but we all do,
and when the break is mended it can be stronger than before, at least you weathered the storm

house dated 1661

This was an interesting find in the village of Rossett, just across the border into N Wales from England. The house linked to the mill wheel is dated 1661, four years before the plague of London and five years before the great fire of London.

Man .. 1665/66 was a REALLY bad 2 years in London, no wonder Mister Rossett moved away and built a new mill just across the border in Wales !!!

Wow, beautiful clear image. I only wish we had buildings and machinery this old in Australia to capture - thanks.

Beach, if I ever make it to the UK, I hope you will find the time to guide me through the amazing places I've only been able to see through your camera. Your work continues to inspire and amaze me. You've managed, somehow, to capture the "personality" of an inanimate object yet again, and amazingly well, at that!

If we're lucky, we each have our 70, 80, 90, or 100 years. The storms come and go, we get battered, beaten, broken, mended, and carry on. Set against something as old as this, we are reminded of the ones that came before us, the timelessness of the land, and the significance of eternity. Thanks for the reminder.

Wow beach, you took us back in time with this one. Great eye to spot this. The composition is perfect and so was the added history lesson. Great work

what a great presentation of time .. I found some lyrics from your thread that I thought may fit..

An umbrella's no good in a hurricane,
But just like the sun in the end you come shining through.
