Finally caught a couple of these things!

You certainly did.
But in order to make them shine I would suggest you pick a different location for the feeder. One that will render a better (less distractive, lighter) background and allow you to get a better angle to shoot the little flying machines.

You are up to something good, don't let it go until you get it!

So funny when I looked at your photos I could have been looking at my own back patio. We have the same exact feeder and I have little Christmas lights strung along our patio eves as well (looks pretty on a warm summer night). Only diff is my lights are clear. Feels great to finally catch these guys huh? You got some good shots of them. Keep trying they will get used to you begin there.

Thanks everyone. Yeah i need to move the feeder out so the lighting will be better. I have just got them use to me being out there, every time they hear the shutter they take off for a little bit. I was just happy to finally catch them. They do have long beaks huh???
