Default Nikki Sue Nikon & The Raven Pt III - The Laughing Shoals

Softly floating through the hills
Soothing solace for the ears
Comes the call of The Raven
Find the secret of my tears

The Rhododendron points the way
Says legend of days gone by
When the shoals of Dodd start laughing
The secret is surely nigh

The Hemlocks high above
Rhododendron down below
Seek the tears of The Raven
and the secret of the flow

Round the bend and cross the roots
The pixies spread their blooms
A trail blazed with Rhododendron
Where the quiet water looms

Find your peace and rest your soul
In waters lying still
For soon The Raven comes
and with him turmoil will

The Hemlocks high above
Rhododendron down below
Seek the tears of The Raven
and the secret of the flow

Silently seeking soft asylum
Beside the waters still
My reverie rudely rousted
By echoes from yonder hill

Onward, upward, ever pressing
The mountain's misty path
My heart burst in hilarity
At the sound of Dodd Creek's laugh

The Hemlocks high above
Rhododendron down below
Seek the tears of The Raven
and the secret of the flow

Part III- The Laughing shoals

What a beautiful place. I only wish we had falls like that out here. Nice set of photos.

beautiful shots Mike.....Love that feeling of being enveloped in all that greenery and hearing the falls splash here and there. We'll be visiting Chattanooga starting tomorrow until Monday so we will not be too far from you!

Every place has its own beauty. One only has to look for it. That's why I like photography so much.

Great part of the country and great photos, Mike. I really like the way the last one cascades down. Well done.

You've done it once again... these are fantastic. I think the third one is my favorite... love the depth of field. Can't wait for The Raven set.

Thanks for looking! I seem to recall lots of crystal clear water in the Texas Hill Country!

Beautiful shots of that waterfall, Mike, and I always enjoy reading the lyrics or poems to go along with them. I've been enjoying following Nikki Sue's journey!
