Default Dragon Fly

Taking a break from all the Art History I have been studying and reading and writing about and I thought I would share two shots I took this morning of a suprise visitor in the bathroom. Not sure how he got in, but after I took a few shot, he closed his wings and was still, I assumed he went to sleep and so did I, when I got up a while later he was no where to be found. A mystery for sure!

In Color:
Dragon Fly 2

and B&W
Dragon Fly

I like the color one, but wish I would have gotten the very tip of the wing, and I like the B&W one, but wish it were sharper, but like that I got the shadow. But with both pictures side by side, I am pretty happy.

Were these live? They are both nice.

Yes it was alive and I left it that way, as long as it is not a spider I am ok. It is the same dragon fly, just different color modes on my little point and shoot. But it was the first dragon fly that I have ever seen that just landed, let alone land on a wall. Pretty cool morning.

Before bed, we found the Dragon Fly in the bathroom again, so before we made sure he made it safely outside, I let him rest on one of my frogs, he seemed to like it. (I wanted to make sure his wings were not wet)

Hmm, was trying to add to the original message but it doesn't look like it worked....I was curious, anyone know of any certain plants that will attract dragon flies to the yard? There is a river across the street and I am not sure if that is part of the attraction in the first place. Thanks in advance for any responses! Ri
