Cool action shot, I enjoy kitesurfing too. Do you have some of the shots with the face showing up?
Here is a litle shoot i did about a month ago and on continuous shooting and then combining a few shots with photoshop to show the whole movement.

Great action shots. Is the 300mm a VR style?

thanks everyone! it was definitely fun to shoot and i WILL be going back there soon!
and no, Heaterguy, the 300mm is not a VR. i think it's actually quite an old lens, though not sure. here it is: Amazon.com: Sigma 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 Aspherical Hyperzoom IF Lens for Canon-AF Camera: Camera & Photo |

Very good shots. No noticable noise that I can. Very crisp and clear.

yep, all handheld, #1 at 200mm, and #3 at 300mm. it's quite common to leave either EV or ISO set pretty high (too high for day/sunlight shooting, that's for sure). but i'm glad i accidently left it there this time, because in order to get a proper exposure i had the shutter speed at over 1/1000, which is why i could hand-hold these shots with no blur whatsoever.
