These are excellent shots from your homeland Flavio. I especially like the second one. Well we all have to cope when the heat is up lol. I am intrigued to know what the sign says in the first one. lol the man looks like he is desperate to get whatever the shop sells. Nice work flavio.

Dave.

Thanks Dave. I'm glad you noticed the minimalistic approach in the second shot (just taking their shoes off).
The orange sign in the first picture indicates that this is not a through street and there is no way for traffic to Alenby St.
Thanks for looking and for leaving your comments.

Great shots...that tell us a bit about Tel Aviv. I really like them all, but I also like the 2nd shot best. Coping with the heat is something I struggle with as well.

Dear Leona,
First of all I'm glad you liked the pictures (much more to come soon...)
Once you get me started about my country it will be difficult for me to stop. I'll make an effort to keep it contained.
Tel Aviv was founded in 1909 on the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa. The growth of Tel Aviv surpassed Jaffa, which was largely Arab at the time and a mixed city now. Later, Tel Aviv and Jaffa were merged into a single municipality. All arabs living in the area are Israeli citizens, of course, and a delicate balance of tolerance and friction characterizes the place. Tel Aviv, is the second largest city in Israel, with an estimated population of 400K. It is the country's financial capital and a major performing arts and business center. The real capital is Jerusalem. Tel Aviv is Israel's wealthiest city, home to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and many corporate offices and research and development centers. Its beaches, bars, cafés, upscale shopping, great weather and cosmopolitan lifestyle have given its reputation as a "City that never sleeps." It is a city of many contrasts, probably a mirror of the whole country: Secular and Religious, Arabs and Israelis, Rich and Poor, Old and New, Modern and Old fashioned, Peaceful and Violent, Beuatiful and Monstrous, Tradition and Novelty, you name it, all melting in a distinct harmony which can only be found in this corner of the middle east, by the Mediterranean sea.
The weather here is HOT and HUMID with max summer temperatures averaging 35C and humidity that never seems to drop from 80%.

Thanks for stopping and leaving your mark!
On the third shot the girl didn't eve noticed my presence. I liked the lighting, smooth and regular, of the sunset over her face. I am pretty happy with the result. If I could I would move the buildings in the background. But, I'm not sure how distracting they are and they also give some sort of point of reference.

Hi Flavio...I like all 3, but for me no 1 stands head and shoulders. I love candid shots that stir up endless possibilities about the characters within them and the stories behind them, and this one certainly does it for me. Nice work...

This was a somehow grim character and I was scared to get closer to him, so the shot pushes the zoom and crop to the limit. I acted as if I was shooting buildings until he totally lost interest in what I was doing and then I captured him, naturally.
