Default No time for play

Been very busy with work and not a lot of time for photography or checking on the DPS friends. Here are a few from a recent walk in the neighborhood, will be around when I can.

A little Antillean Mango Hummingbird, this guy and a lot of his friends are feeding on the blooms of a tree located in a secured area in our development. Trying to find the key to the gate to get closer, but so far no luck.

Hummingbird

Not sure of the turtle species, is a fresh water specimen though.

Finally a Muscovy Duck, these are domesticated ducks but there are some living in an area own their own. I guess they escaped from their owner.

All are great shots. We don't have Hummingbirds in NZ. Thanks for sharing.

Three wonderful pictures FDCPR, but the first takes top marks. Its beautifully captured and presented and this is a hard shot to get. Nice job

Thanks leona, I am after them and need to be closer, just too busy in the real world to try for many photos.

Thanks teedle, I want to get better shots of these guys but between work and a tropical storm I have to put the fun on hold for a while.

Thanks beach, the hummers are difficult to catch but I have found that around 5 pm every day they are sitting on this tree limb. Yesterday they was 11 side by side but the rain was so hard I couldn't get a shot. Maybe when the weather breaks.

Thanks, Fred, for taking a little time to escape your busy schedule to share these great photos. I'm smitten by the hummingbird especially the tiny bits of bright color--the speck of red under his chin and the irridescent green on his wing. The shell of the tortoroise looks like tile, the kind you might find on a dance floor, though that's probably just my imagination running wild. The duck looks unlikely, as though conured by an inventor having a strange day. You live in a wonderful and varied place. Come back soon!

Interesting set, Fred. The hummingbird is my fave, especially since they are so hard to get. I like the markings on the turtle as well, and the duck looks just like some at the park where II often eat lunch. I never knew what they are called until now.

Wonderful shots Fred. I really like the hummingbird. It's really cool seeing wildlife from other places. Thanks!
