Very cool shot. Is the colouring due to the lighting you used or is it Photoshopped... or both?

Thanks for sharing.

Great shot, any chance you could give a brief description on how you photograph smoke like this?

The smoke is from a cigarette on an ashtray. the flash was set off by remote from about 45 degrees behind the smoke. it would have been more sharp but it was a bit tricky to get it to focus so i used manual. the smoke spiraled naturally.

on the colors, no photoshop on this one. Just used Canon's Digital Photo Professional software to adjust the contrast, sharpness, and saturation. I placed them all to extremes to get this effect and colors.

What i've learned just recently on my following go on smoke as far as post processing is concerned is to play with the hues and saturation. The results

SMOKING YOU A ROSE:

SPOT THE DRAGON:

...And the ANGEL OF SLOW DEATH APPEARS:

Again, these are a tad out of focus but i'm still learning. thanks

I saw this yesterday and did not have time to comment. I see it is still on the first page here of SYS as it should be. Very cool. I really love this! I have not tried it myself but perhaps this winter when it is dark, gray and rainy outside I will have to try. You have set the bar pretty high for me. Great job!
