Default Hummingbirds Caught

While spending a few days at Lake Rescue in Ludlow, Vermont this weekend I noticed a fair amount of hummingbird activity in the gardens. I set myself up in a chair about four feet in front of some Bee Balm and waited...as you can see, I was not disappointed.

Thanks so much Vin...typically, I don't do a lot of bird photography, but I couldn't miss this golden opportunity

WOW Vinnie...seriously nice stuff. The 3rd and 4th are my favorites. I've got a hibiscus on my deck and over the years it's proved to attract hummingbirds..haven't got any yet so far this summer, but I'm still stalking!

These are simply beautiful.

Thank you for your kind comments Susan...sometimes it just pays to be patient, if you get my drift

Thanks Eaglesfan...I'm a big fan also, last of the really great groups. One or two on my list that also includes Little River Band, and although not a group, early Jackson Browne.
As far as the hummingbirds, I think they usually feel pretty safe getting close to humans because they're so darn fast...amazingly fast. I shot most at around 1/600th second, and was happy to see that I was able to stop the wings in most shots at that speed. Thanks for your comments and for viewing

Thumbs up

Whoa!! Nice captures, Vinnie! You had prime vantage point for these babies! Lovely compositions and backgrounds, brought out the colors in the hummingbirds well. I just posted for critique of a hummingbird I captured today, but doesn't even compare to these.

First and last are my favorites. The wing positions are awesome! Very well done!
