I am rescuing a little girl...she was turned over to the pound by her owners because they are moving...and they were going to euthanize her because she is over 5 (she is 8) and because she is overweight.(not her fault). She has the sweetest nature and is absolutely beautiful. She is a double merle and most of these aussies are born either blind, deaf or a combination of both. She was lucky to be normal.

WOW Leona she is gorgeous !! Love the eye colour she has reminds me of my old grey marle.. Lovely that you rescued her shame they even dreamt of destroying such a fine animal we have the Canine Defense League here which will look after any healthy dog ... wish more were like them

Good for you Leona! She is beautiful and she's not overweight at all!!! Chewy is overweight!! I'm glad that you could rescue her and Pray that you will bond quickly with her.

Your a wonderful person for caring so much...look at those eyes...who could resist...id hate to think of anything happening to my 2 dogs..they are my babies...people need to care more and think more before getting animals...
Im sure your going to be very loved.

Thank you everyone...for your kind comments. I already have three dogs...a Golden Retriever that I brought home from South Africa, and Angella and I have a brother and sister Maltese/Shih Tzu. We love dogs and can't believe some of the reasons that people part with them like they're nothing, like there are no feelings involved. It amazes me.

Oh, Leona....big hugs to you for taking this little love in and not letting her sweet life go to waste. I so admire you for that, and cannot wait to see more beautiful pics of her!!! This thread brought a tear to my eye, actually.....oh my......
